Have you heard? There’s not gonna be a BlizzCon this year! Community Manager Bashiok weighed in on the forums to explain why. In short, they feel they wouldn’t have too much to show this year, and want to focus their efforts on releasing content, like Mists of Pandaria. What do you think?

I have to admit that as someone who’s just watched from home and never gone, I can certainly see why it isn’t necessary to have a BlizzCon every year. I’m a little bored during the years they don’t announce a WoW expansion. But I understand that attendees love to go for the community, and I can see why many must be disappointed.

Guys, Star Wars Uncut is now available online for your streaming pleasure! What’s Star Wars Uncut, you say? It’s Star Wars: A New Hope, cut up into 473 15-second chunks and remade by fans all over the world. It even won an Emmy!

Below is the full movie as posted on Vimeo. But there were multiple submissions for many scenes, which you can peruse over at the Star Wars Uncut site.

Minecraft Bink Skin

Above is a zoomed in picture of what the skin looks like as I’m editing it. It’s a lot of trial and error – edit some pixels, then upload it and see how it looks. I think there are tools out there to preview it and make it easier, but I prefer to just do it in Photoshop.

If anyone runs around with a friend as both Chloe and Bink, I’d love to see some screencaps!

Minecraft Chloe Skin

I’ve been playing around in Minecraft off and on for over a year now, and I can’t believe I finally got around to making a skin for my character. And it was really fun to make! Kinda like making a little Tiny Tower Chloe. But you can use this one! Feel free to use it, mod it, whatever. I don’t know how many of you Minecraft about.

Here’s the skin!

To make it appear as your own Minecraft avatar, you need to log in at minecraft.net, go to your profile, and upload the skin file. Then you’ll be Chloe next time you play, and you can change the skin again anytime you like. You have to have bought the game in order to do this – I don’t think it works for the free version.

Forget-Me-Not Update and Free Release For Windows and Mac

I’m not sure how I missed this. The dev of one of my favorite iOS games, the retro-style arcade game Forget-Me-Not, released free versions for PC and Mac last summer. Those who aren’t joined at the hip to an Apple iDevice can enjoy the charm and elegance of this wonderful game. GO GET IT! I love this game on the iPad, and that’s where all the updates are at, but the controls are probably even better suited for the PC. And by PC I mean Personal Computer, be it Windows or Mac. I’d really like to make that the mainstream meaning for PC…. But I digress!

A few tips – check out the readme in the folder. The controls are intuitive, but you’ll probably want to bring up the options and take the game to fullscreen so it isn’t tiny. Press ‘o’ to bring up the options, then change ‘windowed’ to ‘fullscreen’ using the arrow keys, then navigate to save and hit enter.

And for the iOS crowd, there was an update on Dec. 20. It’s got the new stuff from the pc/mac versions, new modes, new enemies, and iCade support. I don’t have an iCade. Do you?

Holiday Shipping Deadline

Just wanted to let you know that Monday, Dec 19 is the very last day for US residents to order a shirt or print and have it arrive in time for Christmas. I’ve been shipping all December shirt orders as Priority Mail within the US at no extra cost to make sure they get to you as quickly as possible, and will continue to do so until I leave to see my family next week.

Keep coming back to the site though – comics will be on a regular schedule right on into 2012.

Just a quick note about Lulu coupon codes. The code NOVPHOTOS25 should still get you 25% off on Lulu calendars like the NPC 2012 calendar until the end of November. I don’t have any control over or preknowledge of what Lulu will do with their coupon codes, and I see today on Lulu.com that they’re hinting they might have some bigger savings in store for Nov 28, aka Cyber Monday. If I find out about a code I’ll try to let you know as soon as I can. Your best bet to get the most savings might be to check the lulu.com home page for promotions or google lulu coupon codes, in case I’ve missed the latest deals.
