Out of curiosity, Mary, m’am, but do you actually play Magic? What colors and kind of deck? :-)

My boyfriend, John, got back into it last year and since then I’ve been playing with him and friends. I don’t go with him to the store to play, but I did my first and only draft last year at Gen Con with Brandon Sanderson.

John and I have been playing limited. He’ll often have extra boosters we make 40-card decks out of, or we just play with the last decks we made. We played last night (before the Downton Abbey finale!) with decks we made last week out of the latest Gatecrash boosters. I was beating him pretty bad with my white/red deck, but last night he remade his deck from his sideboard and really turned things around. Extort seems to be a big game changer for us. That and a card I can’t remember the name of – it’s an enchantment that gives a creature an extra +1/1 every upkeep.

First time you watch something good, you watch it with a light offhand or none at all. Eating, for example.

Rewatches or uninteresting/uninvolved stuff, you can do heavier offhands. Grinding, for instance.

And then you have stuff that’s just turning on the TV for the sake of having it going, only catching bits here and there. Like when reading, for illustration.

While I figure Mary actually digests DA properly, I worry too many people inadvertently scorn good stuff.

Arrgh my partner does this. “Let’s watch that movie we’ve been talking about?” So we put it in because she’s been waiting for the blu-ray release. Five mins into it shes browing on her lap top next to her and asking me whats going on in the movie.. and it’s usually it’s a film I have about 2% interest in watching to begin with. You two would have the greatest discussions about shows. lol
