A better way to do option 1 would be to copy your entire WordPress directory to a new directory, WordPress.screwingaround or whatever, then setup another vhost pointing to that directory that only you know about, and then fiddle with the code there!

Just the base theme or a child theme? If it’s base, then you should be in pretty good shape – the Comic Easel uses the base theme.

As for clarification: There’s a plugin (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/cp2ce/) that converts your old posts (with comics) into the new style of using it. Additionally, Comic Easel uses an easier means of uploading comics compared to ComicPress. It uses the featured image functionality and the media library instead of doing it separately. Overall once you get it all converted (and there’s a walkthrough on how to do the conversion on Frumph’s site: http://comiceasel.com/category/tutorials/video/), it’s a lot easier to use Comic Easel.

Yeah, I had the same thing – small stuff just kept breaking. But when I switched over to Comic Easel I managed to make it look exactly like it did before. What theme are you using? (also, are you entirely clear or not entirely clear? )

Hey! Yeah, I think I would like to switch to Comic Easel at some point. But I need to make sure I have a whole weekend at least to devote to customizing it. And I’m really liking how the site is working and looking now, so I haven’t been motivated to carve that time out. But if I can’t solve this RSS issue, and if further WordPress updates continue to break little things like that, then I really ought to.

What I’d love to do is duplicate the site so I can work on getting the duplicate up and running in Comic Easel and take my time with it before making it live at npccomic.com. But I’m entirely (not!) clear on how that would work.

Hey, I saw your blog post (the RSS feed issues), and you might be able to fix this if you update to Comic Easel. It’s basically Comic Press except it’s still updated. There’s a way to convert from ComicPress to Comic Easel on Frumph’s site as well – I managed to do this on my own site.
