Did any NPC readers do NaNoWriMo? I did it last year and found it to be very fulfilling.
So hey! If you want a calendar, now’s the time. I’m offering FREE SHIPPING IN THE US for a limited time. You can get your 2013 NPC Comic Calendar here.
It’s a heck of a lot of fun, but I’m also glad it’s done(ish). This year I tried posting each day’s update to my blog which helped a lot with motivation. Unfortunately (or not), I’ve still only barely touched on one of the three mortal sins I mentioned in the very first chapter, so it looks like NaNoWriMo is going through December as well.
I have followed your comic for about a year or so now, tho I almost never comment.
I won NaNo this year too! In fact, I made sure to share your comic with my wife who did NaNo and a couple friends who also participated and won this year.
Congrats on winning NaNo, and thanks for the awesome comic!
*Stands up and does a celebatory dance for you – and is immediately glad no one is around to see it <.< *
Congrats!! I won Nano this year too – after a few years hiatus.
Love the comic – this years novel was not at all autobiographical, but I have certainly done that kind of writing before – write what you know, right?
Thanks guys! I didn’t do it this year – only last year. So see? I’m really not Lisa! The one I did last year was about kids in space. Good times. I hit 50,000 words, but I never really found a satisfactory ending. I resolve that next time I do it I’ll have a plotted-out outline so I don’t wing it so much.
Big congratulations to those of you who did it! It’s a nice feeling, huh?
I hit my word goal for the second time this year, but I still have a long way to go before the novels done. It’ll be my third completed, and all of them need major edits before they go anywhere. Which is disheartening because I always have another book to work on rather than ever editing. Sigh.
And I would totally read any book you finish, space kids or otherwise, purely on the basis of how much I love this comic! Just fyi.
Panel 1:
Lisa: I completed my NaNoWriMo novel!
Mike: Good job, what's it about again?
Panel 2:
Lisa: Just, you know, a lday, and her boyfriend, and her two cats.
Panel 3:
Lisa: She's awkward and plays video games and her cats distract her.
Panel 4:
Mike: So it's a memoir! It's about you!
Lisa: NO! SHE'S NOT ME! HER NAME IS MARY!

Definitely not biographical though.

And now I’ve added you as a writing buddy on the NaNo website so I can give encouragement to you next year (if you do it again).
Cheers!

I did! I finished it this year and last, and tried to do Camp NaNoWriMo this summer but… ya know, life.
