guild wars 2 is going great high population on servers pvp matches take seconds to get into and basically it beats wow at every thing combat, story pvp graphics and crafting
Good thing Chloe didn’t play Final Fantasy XIV.. it has a playable cat race too, although it’s currently rebooting into V2 after a disastrous launch.
WOW rebooted into V2 with Deathwing scorching a few cities. FFXIV rebooted in V2 with Bahamut doing.. well.. watch it yourself ;D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqL3-n2-3J4
I’ll always regret my Tauren Druid that I will probably never get to play again. Yes, we do get attached to our characters. That’s the great thing about GW2. For those of us who can’t fund a subscription by farming and selling gold, we can buy GW2 once and know that we can log in and play around any old time we want to.
As Bink points out, we never know for sure how long a service will be around. But we know how long GW1 has been around, (seven years) and the buy-to-play model that ArenaNet experimented with seems to be have been a huge success. I wasn’t sure how well GW2 was really going to sell (although I knew I wasn’t the only rabid fan chomping at the bit for it before it was finally released) but it sold well enough for them to stop digital sales for like, a week, while they ramped up server capacity drastically. So I think they’ve earned enough to be able to fund their servers for quite awhile at least.
Play it, it’s really fun. And there’s a free trial Nov 15-18. Anyone who already has an account can get you in.
Awesome, m’am. Simply AWESOME. You will not run out of things to do, of places to explore, of things to experience. It is addictive, it is fun. You will not regret it.
EverQuest! Al’Kabor server, you Apple-using kitties! (Though Al’Kabor was nearly shut down a while back…) Vah Shir! Kiiiiittty!
But no plat-selling on Al’Kabor. Too many of us old-timers are still around who do things like, “Sweet Elune, take this [magic weapon] off my hands so I can get some bag space!”
Panel 1:
Bink: Chloe, we need to give Guild Wars 2 a chance. They have a playable cat race!
Chloe: Why? Every non-WoW MMO that gets a lot of buzz only does well for a few months.
Panel 2:
Bink: Not true! Eve Online has been going strong.
Chloe: Can you promise me Guild Wars 2 won't shut down like City of Heroes? Can you promise me that my character will always be there?
Panel 3:
Bink: Chloe, I can't even promise you that our WoW characters will always be there. Who knows what could happen in five or ten years?
Chloe stares blankly.
Panel 4:
Bink: Chloe?
Chloe (teary eyed): Night elves... don't really live forever?

Those looks on Chloe’s face in panels 3 and 4 …priceless!
It’s amazing how attached we become to our characters.

Guild Wars 2 has actually died off with the lack of end game progression.
While GW2 may not be the best, it is most certainly better than WoW.
Given how many people play WoW, and how many people play GW2, I’d have to say “better is in the eye of the player”.
What is it about GW2 that you like over WoW?
How long is that in kitty years? ^!^
