My boyfriend John and I actually did manage to learn and play Mansions of Madness one evening and it was great. I recommend it! Just…don’t start too late.

… and the next time actually starting confident and then realizing you misread something.
*PS: I can’t understand if I said something wrong when commenting on last Friday’s strip and I could never expect such a reply.
The bottom line is that we all love your work and you should be unadaunted, keep it up and trust your fans got your back.
You said nothing wrong Bro. He was just a Troll and Trolls are just dumbass Keyboard warriors looking for a chance to vent there bile on the good works of others. Mary Rules and so does NPC. Chole and Bink for life.
Hey thanks guys.
Jason, your Friday comment made sense and wasn’t negative at all. And thanks for keeping up on the comic while you travel, as I take it you’re doing extensively from some of your other comments!
And then you won’t start early enough to finish it next time so it sits out for a few nights until you have time to play it again. I can’t count how many times that’s been done with Monopoly in my house. Or taking the time to write up a list of what each player has and putting it in the box to pick up there next time. But when months pass and everyone finally has time to play again nobody wants to play the old game. :\
I totally suggest http://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/74620/mansions-of-madness-fully-revised-scenarios for your next foray. It seems to have cleared up a lot of problems the box set had.
Oh nice! Thanks!
I’m starting to wonder when Mike is gonna grow out of this whole “Board Game” phase.
Some are just more trouble than they’re worth.
*cough* Risk *cough* 2 hours to read rules
I love Chloe’s way of cleaning utensils. Cat’s tongues are always really clean, especially after they lick their butts.
There are board games my group has played once. … and then said “never again”. City of Chaos falls under that description.
This is distinct from “games we play once, put on the shelf, and never look at again.” These games assume the aspect of boogiemen that we threaten to bring out and play, when someone is misbehaving.
“Mansions of Madness” the much anticipated board-game-version of the short story “At the Mountains of Madness” by H.P. Lovecraft.
Thrill as you build your Alien City and discover the fate of the Elder Things.
Escape the insane Shoggoths and keep the Spawn of Cthulu asleep at the bottom of the ocean in the city of Ryleh.
If your society has to pray to the Outer Gods for assistance in killing those pesky octo-dragon-gods, you lose a turn.
you made me feel like finding my old board games and to start playing them again! Now to find scapegoats to errr i mean friends to play the game with
I’m sorry, I tried.
Mike’s new look really doesn’t work for me. I love Chloe and Bink (and always will) but I find Mike’s huge ‘Jay Leno’ chin and tiny offset mouth awkward and hard to look at.
My opinion should not sway you. Your comic is a hit and well-loved. I’m just not comfortable with the art style.
Good wishes for the future and good luck to Chloe, Bink and F.L.E.A.!
Great job with the comic! This is my favorite web comic.
Speaking of board games, you probably already know about this, but if not, check it out: http://tabletop.geekandsundry.com/ Wil Wheaton & Felicia Day’s new web show on board games. They already got me to buy one (Small World).
Thanks! And yes, I love that show! I still haven’t caught the latest one about Catan, but I’m eagerly looking forward to watching it. I’m glad you got Small World! It’s one of my favorites.
Have you tried Arkham Horror? It’s set in the same universe as MoM but is completely co-op; definitely one of my favorites.
I have! But only once and a while ago…so I’d have to review all the rules again for sure. BF John and I were actually just saying we need to play it again soon.
And I saw your other comment – thanks for coming by and reading the comic!
