That’s so funny but unfortunate you guys have the same problem. We animators, who often spend most of our time animating in Flash, have to be very careful how we answer the “Do you know Flash” question. And even then there’s confusion. I once gave a client an animated movie and he exclaimed “But nothing happens when I click on it!”
As a programmer who has worked in flash (well, ActionScript), I can sympathize. I think an animator who “has to program” in flash, I think Lisa has the better of it.
Once you know how to program for one event, you’re set. And that’s really pretty trivial.
Us programmers would need a several-month intensive art course in order to know how to draw the art resources. (Actually animating them once you have the art is, IMO, much simpler than drawing them in the first place. Or at least a lot less scary.)
Panel 1:
Kendra: You know flash, right?
Lisa: I'm working on it right now.
Panel 2:
Kendra: (handing Lisa a piece of paper.) Great! Our client wants banner ads. We need you to program them to do these things.
Lisa: Oh I can't program in Flash. Just animate.
Panel 3:
Kendra: I believe in you! We need it by tomorrow morning.
Lisa: But I...
Panel 4: Lisa stares at the paper.
Lisa: I'm an animator, not a programmer.
Panel 5:
Lisa: "On roll-ver dominate the user's screen with dancing Bollywood starlets."

I’m a shaman not a healer
d-mnit Jim!
I’m a mage not a vending machine!
I feel your pain. I’m a programmer who people expect to make things pretty.
Yeah, I can’t work in Flash because I’m a programmer and not an animator, and I sometimes get the same problem in reverse.

I’m a druid, not a healer/tank.
I feel for you
Goes the other way too, when we, the programmers, are asked to do design…. we don’t mind, but we lack the talent
Wait… Can’t she just get Mike to help her?
