Bleh, I like relationships where we have the same interests – my husband is as avid a WoW gamer as I am. I’ve had relationships where I’ve “done my own thing” and they never work out nearly as well for me.
I guess I’ve always just respected Blizzard as a company a little bit more. Their practices seem more open and friendly to gamers. Turbine’s not BAD; I just don’t feel like they care enough to keep up informed about what’s going on.
I bet Mike would like Rift. Chloe and Bink would love it. Platinum farming to be had and one faction entirely dependant on technology. It is like them and PooPal.
I get the feeling that Rift would be more popular if cost less than WoW… and if its graphics weren’t the way they are. Realism? Why would any game have that? I tried living in real life once, but the graphics were weird and the gameplay was a waste of time.
Oh, and don’t hate me for this, but the second panel is missing an “a.” Nitpickery!
Been playing WOW for many years now and was raiding regularly on two different realms in both factions. After the last expansion the guilds just dwindled to nothing. Some went to Rift and some just disapppeared to another realm. I now have a WOW account and a RIFT account. Rift was fun to level, but finding a decent raiding guild at end of game is difficult. I’ve been thinking of getting some friends together to play cards or board games myself.
My husband is into board games, and I’m not so much. We’ve found something kind of different we both really like, though. They’re deck building games. I don’t have to make a financial investment in good cards because they come in a complete set(no booster packs that drain your wallet), the goal of the game is to have the best deck, and every person has a chance to get any card. We are starting off with Ascension. It has the fantasy look of Magic the Gathering, but is simple and quick.
Panel 1:
Mike: (To Lisa) How about this. Every week I'll spend some time on my board game thing, and you spend time on WoW.
Panel 2:
Mike: I'll even play WoW with you sometimes if you help me make creeples once in a while. And then we spend one night a week doing something completely new, together.
Panel 3:
Lisa: (winking nose) Like rock-climbing?
Mike: Does that interest you?
Lisa: No.
Panel 4:
Mike: Oh, what would you like to try?
Panel 5:
Lisa: I've never played Rift..
Mike: (walking away) Rock-climbing it is!

RIFT?! THAT TRAITOR!!
Poor Lotro, nobody loves you but me..
It’s okay, I love it too.
Good game, but sometimes I wonder about how Turbine runs it.
Meh – after 3 years of Blizzard’s local (lolceanic) service I have trouble finding faults with the Turb.

Hopefully it works in relationships too!
Yeah, my wife doesn’t play MMO’s with me either
But that’s ok.

Doh! Fixed. Thanks – nitpickery is sometimes required!
My wife and I settled it thus: When she’s alone, she does what she wants, when I’m alone I work. Then, when we get together, we do what she wants.
She thinks its awesome.

WoW AND Rift?! I feel sorry for your wallet.
*GASP* Rock Climbing over RIFT!! Is Mike nuts!!
lol
Well, I hope they find something cool to do together. I hear darts is cool.
Think I called it…

And still no mention of my beloved Aion… oh well XD
I love Rift….it cured my WoW addiction.
Mike….pull a switcheroo and hit her with some of the Rifts tabletop RPG. If you can decrypt the rulebooks that is.
