Nothing lasts forever, and this is especially true of video games. There comes a time when every game grows old, when it must be put down and new games must be played.
The problem I see with MMOs is that, unlike most games that you can complete, put down, and return to after some time to play all over again, MMOs are ever-changing and never-ending, which causes efforts to return to them difficult. Since you can’t leave after you “complete” it, you have to leave because it becomes unsatisfying or some other negative circumstance, and those negative circumstances heavily impact the desire to return.
I came back just before Cataclysm, server changed, and joined a top 100 US guild, but as drama built and that guild disbanded, all the old, bad memories I had losing other guilds cropped up, and I left the game for good.
d-mn it’s like looking at myself. I joined WoW same time as my boyfriend, but he’s lost interest and I still like it. It’s really weird to be excited for something in the new patch and not have anyone to talk about it in real life. D=
Panel 1:
Lisa: I guess I'm a little worried there's something wrong with me for still being into WoW.
Panel 2:
Lisa: I mean, I don't care about being a geek or whatever, but I see people moving on from it all the time. And here I am, still as into it as ever.
Panel 3:
Lisa: (gesturing to Mike) And now you're moving on, and I'm stuck, here, in WoW. In your past!
Panel 4:
Mike: Don't worry, Lisa. I still see you in my future.
Lisa: At least I'm not stuck in WoW's past. Patch 1.3 haunts me.

Dire maul haunts us all. It was horrible.
I miss Journeyman and wish they’d bring it to DVD.
<.< I dont know what was so bad about 1.3?
Dire Maul horrible? Wash your mouth out!
You could become king of those ogres. How was that horrible and not all kinds of awesome?
Exactly! How much better does it get then having a bunch of ogres, or anyt large group, worshiping you?
Bah – as King of Og’rila we /spit on your Dire Maul ogres.
“Now, my minions! Let us farm crystals to play the Simon machines!”
Mike “Don’t worry, Lisa. I still see you in my future” Awwwwww <3
Do I smell a proposal?
Dire Maul = Epic Fail.
Quantum Leap + Journeyman reference = EPIC WIN.

He says he can see her in his future and she responds with a reference to something she hates… Things that make you go hmm…
