Their happy to be back and yet a strike and a miss in the end. They need to find a middle ground besides the games. They weren’t dating because of wow were they?
I don’t see it as “a swing and a miss”. It’s not that they necessarily need to go back to their old ways, or compromise by “only playing half as much WoW” or like that.
The trick isn’t the compromise. It’s the accepting of where each other is willing to go. While I’m not married myself, I’ve seen them in action. And Having Your Own Time seems as important (from my vantage) as Having Together Time. Mike’s boardgame and D&D thing is his. I don’t think we’ve seen a “Lisa’s Hobby” outside of WoW, though if Mike decides to play other things, it might become hers.
If so, their compromising might consist of Something Else they do together. Walks, clubbing, two DIFFERENT games on laptops in bars, whatever.
I actually recently tried to quit WoW for this and that — but as I was one of the GM’s and my bf is a primary raider, they managed to get me to play again. Luckily I just do GM stuff and leave the raiding behind.
I used to empathize with Lisa, being a girl gamer and all that, but her recent behavior and over-the-top obsession with WoW makes me want to punch her every time she talks.
I think it’d be funny if they switched in-game roles. I think Lisa might have a newfound respect for why Mike wants to take some time off from the game. It’s frustrating at times. I know all about that one-track mind though… /sympathize, Lisa.
Panel 1:
Lisa: I'm sorry I haven't been very supportive of your board game idea. It sounds cool and I'm glad you're excited about it.
Panel 2:
Mike: It's ok. I'm sorry I haven't been around much lately. I miss you.
Lisa: I miss you too.
Panel 3:
Lisa: (holding hands with Mike) So.
Mike: So.
Panel 5:
Lisa: (grinning) I don't suppose you wanna heal Firelands?
Mike: (also grinning) Don't suppose I do.

I can’t wait for you to see the upcoming strips!
You could… always… er… post strips to the blog faster. It would mean you wouldn’t have to wait as long for us to see the upcoming strips!
Yeah, that’s it. Post faster!
Hmph. I’ve dated men like Mike before.
Haha I’m curious about this, especially with the ‘Hmph” in there!
Oh Mike, don’t fall in her “Pocket-Healer” trap again
Blizz should make a Pocket-Healer toy.
They already do. We call them gnomes. Don’t tell me their not toys either.
Squeaky toys that are kickable – what better?

… like Mike in what way?
I liked the double meaning of the title.
I used to empathize with Lisa, being a girl gamer and all that, but her recent behavior and over-the-top obsession with WoW makes me want to punch her every time she talks.
Aw… Simple, sincere heartwarming… That’s something I miss in comics/comic strips/webcomics.

hmmmmmm, losing interest in healing firelands… must be a holy priest.
LOL @ agreeing with your girlfriend when she hopes you’d disagree.
