I've found it really hard to get into Smallville. I've never been a big TV watcher ( well not in the last 10 years anyway), but I do love my DVDs. I got a cheap deal on the first 5 seasons of Smallville, but I just can't get past the first season....

I'm not much of a Smallville fan myself, as not even seen an episode of it.

Although oddly enough I'm going to miss the set. I live in Vancouver and see the set every other day on my travels. I'm wondering what'll happen to that space :(

I got into Smallville about halfway through the series. I saw the finale, loved it but it was sad it was over.

Your story Mary, reminds me of my housemates( my best friend and her husband).
When "Enterprise" first came on the air they were newlyweds. Every week as the credits came up, no matter where they were in the house, no matter what they were doing they would meet in front of the TV and dance to "Faith of the Heart", then sit down next to each other and cuddle to watch the show.
When it went off the air, their tradition went with it, which for me as an observer and friend was rather sad.

I'm mildly intrigued but i'll get over it. I've worked second shift pretty much all my life so i never see a lot of TV. The last show that i had to watch religiously was--and i'm a little embarrassed to admit--Star Trek: Enterprise. The first two seasons i had a lot of hope that it could get better, even tho it jumped the shark in the first episode! The last 2 seasons was much like watching a train wreck. Despite that i did enjoy most episodes but the show was never what it could have, should have been.

Smallville when it first started was your average superhero show meets "Eerie, Indiana." I liked the "wall of Weird", I liked the trope of Clark saving Lana every week but she always thought it was someone else. I tired of it being too serious with the whole plotting and scheming of the Luthors. While it was an interesting take i always felt like it was wrong to have Lex Luthor there to start.

I do feel like they did way more with this show than with "Lois and Clark". If my situation had been different i may have been able to casually enjoy Smallville all the way thru.

I wasn't a huge fan, but I appreciate that they've been able to keep at it for 10 seasons and really take Clark from high school to becoming Superman right before viewers' eyes. It's weird seeing episodes from 2001 and then seeing episodes from 2011 and thinking, "Wow, those are the same characters. And the same actors." (Granted, most of the original characters are either gone or are weird alternate versions of themselves.)

Anyway, the show has come a long way, and as much as the writing has been hit-or-miss in recent seasons, I can only appreciate how far they've come and how dedicated some of those people have been. Definitely catching the season finale tonight.

I've kept up with it, and will watch the finale, but not tonight. Traveling to DC for the weekend, going to some concert tonight...and yeah, I am actually a little sad about having to wait to watch. It's been a fun show, but I'm glad they're ending it, it's time for it to die.
