Poll: What System Are You Getting Portal 2 For?
By maryvarn on April 19th, 2011Posted In: NPC Blog,Polls,Video Games
I posted a similar poll about Portal 2 on the NPC Facebook Page yesterday, but I figured we’d see a bigger turnout if I posted it here. Feel free to say in the comments why you chose that particular system. Is anyone excited? I am!
*EDIT* Poll is closed! Look like most people are playing it on their computer if they’re playing it all, but there’s still a significant PS3 and Xbox contigent. I haven’t had a chance to buy it and play it yet myself. I hope soon though.*

A good question would be what percent of people who answered PC/Mac are getting it via Steam and what percent are getting a hard copy.
I think that’s why that option has so many people, because it includes both of those groups.
Me, I happened to have a GameStop gift card, so I ordered it via snail mail and will probably be receiving my disc long after everyone else has beaten it!
Oh yeah, good point. But won’t the hard copy connect to Steam anyway once it’s installed, so the only real difference in the experience is the delivery?
If this is the case, then I was not aware! Interesting.
All about the PS3 version when it comes out in the UK on Thursday – 2 player split-screen on the PS3, and getting a free copy for the PC through the Steamworks integration, and all for £25.50? Win
The too poor to afford it version. Hoping a friend beats is and then I can borrow it off them
We preordered it for PS3 because it came with a free Steam copy so both my husband and I can play at the same time.
Oops! And I accidentally clicked “Why are you assuming…” instead of PS3… Seems my brain is on strike this morning.
PC all the way. A mouse and keyboard is just way more accurate than either the PS3 or XBOX 360. Fallout New Vegas on PS3 reminded me of that (compared to playing Fallout 3 on PC.)
I pre-ordered on Steam, pre-loaded last week, and actually finished the game last night. ‘Twas very awesome.
There is another option for some people, even though your poll sort of covers them. A friend of mine paired up with a buddy to buy the PS3 version together. Since the PS3 version comes with a code for a free Steam installation, the buddy kept the PS3 version and my friend took the Steam code for himself. The both of them basically got a 2-for-1 deal.
Valve may be pushing for people to use their Steam code for themselves as a little gift for buying it on PS3, but I wouldn’t be surprised if a large majority of people are doing the buddy buy, too.
I voted PC, because Portal is a (the!) PC-game! But I’ve heard of those fancy offers that interconnects your Steam and PSN, if that’s so… Why not get the PS3 version?!
All in wait though.money money money! ^^ (No spoilers!)
I’ll be getting it for PC via Steam, but I’ll probably wait until the weekend (or perhaps tonight, just before I go to bed, so it can download over night).
i’m getting the PS3 version, but expect to play on my Mac as well via Steam…
What is the difference between pc and mac.
A mac is a Personal Computer (pc).
End of story.
Yeah, I hear ya. Like Vampyrr says below, a lot of people still associate ‘PC’ with Windows. But that sometimes bugs me too, so I should have made the option in the poll ‘Windows/Mac’!
First off who was arguing about mac’s and pc’s?
While a mac is considered a pc, the general consensus when people say PC is a windows operated device as the mass majority of computer users are on this. So when a piece of software can work with a mac or linux device they are usually listed specifically as not everything works with them.
