Panel 1: Chloe and Bink peer through Fitz’s window as Fitz sits on his cushion.
Bink: Psst, F. Scott! We have a present for you!
Panel 2:
Fitz (taking present): Ooh! A g-g-guide to overcoming sp-sp-speech impediments?
Bink: Nope.
Fitz: This year’s Pansy Farmer Almanac?
Bink: Uh uh.
Panel 3:
Bink: A top of the line gaming laptop!
Chloe: And your own World of Warcraft account.
Panel 4: Fitz looks at the present.
Panel 5:
Bink: You can pick flowers in it.
Fitz (interested now): Oooooh.
I suppose I should take this moment to point out the idea someone had about leveling from 1-85 picking only flowers, and never killing anything. Ultimate Pacifist path. I think I see a future for ol’ F. Scott there.
I had this idea, after I leveled my lock to 85 but kept putting it off. I was addicted to leveling my reputations before I quit (stopped at around 35 after I just complete the wintersabe kitty faction). It was either go 1-85 with mining, herbing or what I heard would by fun, archeology.
I hope you Gaming people don’t take it so seriously that you have to go to the emergency room when attacked by a Nightstalker or whatever, or that a top-of-the-line gaming laptop is the most wonderful thing u can think of. I seem to be the only Non-Player Character here. Are there others?
By the way, Mary, I don’t agree with your hyphenation of the expression I just hyphenated.
I don’t really understand what you just said.
No one takes it that seriously. …probably. (above age 7?)
Top-of-the-line gaming laptop is pretty darn good. Even if you don’t like it, you can return it and get a couple thousand dollars. Nothing beats that. Herb-picking on wow really doesn’t need anything more than a regular laptop though. It’s especially good for someone trapped and needing to escape, if only in their imagination.
A Non-Player Character (NPC) is commonly thought to be an AI/bot/bits of code. IE: Not a Real Person. Saying a person is a NPC is odd. I suppose you could be referencing something in the comic that I haven’t read, though.
For the comic:
I love this sequence, and poor Fitz. I hope him speaking up about his treatment means the Bug will be a bit more careful with him. Maybe WoW escapism will help him with his imprisonment. =(
Oh, you know us gamers. We get attacked by a Nightsaber and run off to the emergency room.
I’m assuming that you calling yourself a Non-Player Character was a really bad joke meaning you don’t play games, but I wouldn’t know because I take games too seriously.
You dont even seem to know what a non player character is if you claim to be one. Both your name and context of your post indicate you as a troll. If you dont like the comic about gaming (specifically wow) no one is breaking your arm to read it. There are plenty of non wow related comics out there feel free to go find one
In all honesty I enjoy the comic and find it rude when people make negative comments about it. She puts a lot of effort in to entertain people. If you dont like it, dont read it.
And yes if you dont get it or appreciate the humour then you are a non player character.
Considering the pitch of yelp my kid hit when Deathwing unexpectedly toasted the kid’s little level 70 Deathknight… (Well, of course the DK is little: she’s a gnome!) Yeah, that’s a fair potential issue for poor Fitzy G, who is even more high-strung than my kid. *grin*
Though hopefully they’d be able to talk him into running back from the graveyard, and it would become less scary?
I really enjoy this comic. I’m not a gamer, but I certainly don’t “hate” them. Perhaps because I’m much older, I never feel surrounded or pushed or excluded by them. I find their preoccupations a little overwhelming at times, but I suspect that’s true of anyone outside of what might be considered any intense hobby or interest.
My son is a gamer, but not into WOW. I completely miss some (a lot) of the jokes. When I realize it, I sometimes ask him to explain. Sometimes he can.
Nevertheless, I really enjoy the comic. The cats are great! On a more serious but less important level, it’s fun to watch people “into” a particular subculture, how they move in and out of it, and their assumptions about the desires of others. Contrast today’s comic (the cats’ lack of perspective) with the very first comic from 2009 (Mary). (Maybe this explains why they may be “better” than her at WOW; they are more consumed. Also, they don’t have day jobs.)
Anyway, thanks, Mary, from your non-gamer audience. Keep up the good work.
So they can afford a DS, tiling the floor with iPads AND paying for a gaming laptop and a WoW-account for Fitz… How much did they make gold farming??
I hope his paws are long enough to reach both the mouse and the keyboard though, otherwise he might have to ask the demon bug to get another kitteh (I suppose she won’t mind..:)

This comic made my birthday morning

I do believe we have found a female of this species.

I just added this comic to my reader last week. I really like it!
*grin*

Are there other people who hate gamers, that read a comic about gamers?
Maybe, probably not as pointlessly rude about it as you though. I hope not, any way.
Yes.
His name is Jack Johnson.
I’m pretty sure in the first panel I just want to squeeeeeze Fitz and tell him everything will be ok!

That’s mighty nice of you, and good to know that the comic can hit a wider audience. Thanks Skippy!
That is quite the gift! THough, with all that Gold farming money…
Dang it. I need to teach my cats to play wow and farm gold, though on their own account…
d-mn,, is gold farming that profit? If I ever get a cat I will teach it to play wow. Good series, by the way, but I wonder, where are the cupcakes? =(

He looks less twitchy now
Has the Demon Bug calmed down?
Still waiting for my herbs…
