Especially with women it seems… (I deeply apologise if this seems overly sexist, I’ve seen guildies lose inventory to girlfriends and sisters, and in one case plundered by a daughter…)
I take no offense, I wouldn’t trust a man (or anyone else for that matter) with my account info.
I take no offense at either of you. I would trust neither man nor woman with my account info. And I don’t have to be an androgynous hermaphrodite to say that!
I also wouldn’t trust my account info with bots, squirrels, cats, or chickens. … and I think I’ve said enough on that…

Brr… I think this vid is fake, but doing what the gal in the vid did would be a legitimate reason for a break-up. Mind you, I don’t really like WoW, but the sheer disrespect of destroying something he invested hours to build up…

Well, I’ve never heard of a boyfriend or brother trashing some poor girl’s character before… Might be because gamer girls are still pretty uncommon… Might also be because they’re too smart for that. Or maybe guys just aren’t as ruthless.
Trust me, there are guys out there who have taken revenge on (ex)gfs by messing up their accounts. I’ve read quite a few accounts of it, myself.
Lol they’re made out of his sheets. I don’t think I would do that to my bf or ex. Just because I know how much pride and joy went into them.. depends on why we broke up. If he did something evil, I would consider it =P

Lets see, a Character who was obsesed with gaming, so much that he enticed his girlfreind into gaming, decides with no explaination to cut down on his gaming. And leave his hot girlfreind. Also, with no good explaination.
Hate to say it, but it looks like an example of an artist screwing with the logic and generics of the characters for the sake of a contrived plot arc.
P.S. I really love this strip and hope it does well. That includes those times you need to point something out. Good luck in the future.
Looks like an example of a reader who assumes that Jenny could understand and explain everything going through Bill’s mind.
I wish I could roll out more strips per week, but I can’t, and there’s only so much I can feasibly fit into one strip while keeping it entertaining and not a wall of text. Deeper explanations take time. If I feel like it won’t stall the story of the main characters, we’ll get there.
I’m guessing that’s an “artist’s time” limitation rather than a technical one. I would bet that technical solutions are possible.
I’m not doubting that the character has his own reasons for doing what he did. I’m sure you probably have that in your mind and planned out.
It’s just that his actions are so different and out of place from his previous M.O. that alittle forshadowing would have been nice before the bombshell.
Not really contrived. An ex-guildie’s bf, who had been pretty intensely into WoW, quit the game a while back…and proceeded to give her a hard time about still playing, even though she still enjoyed it. He didn’t seem to think she should keep playing because HE didn’t want to play.
Not really a huge difference there from someone breaking up with his gf because he was cutting back on gaming and claimed she was (or would be) a bad influence, imo. Some dudes are just dbags.
Gee, it’s almost like he gave a phony reason for breaking up.
But hey, it’s not like people ever do that..

No, it’s not. But I do know of people who met online and ended up together! And as far as a gamer girlfriend, well, I am one, and I know of lots of others for sure.
I met my husband on Everquest.
Go to Blizzcon or some other gaming convention.You’ll find tons of cute gamer girls there!
You know us readers wouldn’t nit-pick every little detail :> but I’m trying to piece together the sewing with the dialog. It looks like she goes from sewing a foot in the first frame, to sewing near an ear on the second, to pretty much done by the third or fourth. But since she isn’t dealing with something that looks like a flayed teddybear to start with, maybe she’s just finishing up. Eyes and like that.
Wonder if Bill’s shirts are missing anything…
I might be reading to much between the lines but I assume that Bill dumped her for reasons that are similar to what got Lisa kicked from her guild.

I don’t think breaking up with your gf who games because you’re trying to cut down on gaming is a good reason. Far as I’m concerned, Bill deserves what he got. He should have sat her down gave her the real reason he wanted to stop seeing her not be a cowardly b-tch about it. Gives the real men a bad name, that Bill.

I said it last week and I’ll say it again today, this is the best story arc in 2010! I’m excited to see how it prgresses. Look at all these comments! A very testament to how intriguing it is. Whether people are happy about the breakup or not is irrelevant. The fact that everyone is tuned in and invested is. Well done Mary! This is what writing is all about. I can’t wait until Friday for my next ‘fix’!
