Hey Look! It’s Read An RPG Book in Public Week Again!

You may recall that this also happened back in March when I went over the three levels of nerd stigma. Well it’s here again, for the second time this year! Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be able to participate this time. I have a job at home this week along with preparing to go out of town this weekend, which means no subway/public time for me. But I do hope to go over Diaspora and Shock, and even though I’ll be doing that at home, I’m telling you about it, which is kind of public….right?
Leave comments below if you plan on participating, and what tabletop RPGs you’re into.
Well I read WoW Lore books in public all the time, does that count? Although I’ve already read “The Rise of the Lich King” by Christie Golden at least three times, she’s an awesome writer!
This week I will be starting a new D&D 4.0 game as Misery (Teifling Warlord), possibly running a one shot D&D 3.5 game, and doing my weekly World of Darkness: Changing Breeds ( I play Gunn were-rhino defender of all!). At least once this week I will be caught out and about with a corebook to one of these games, because I have so much exp to spend.
I’d love to do this but I sadly don’t have any tabletop RP group to play with out here…would the Pokemon Strategy Guide count?
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts about our game, Diaspora! And I’m doubly interested to hear about any play you might get from it, though it sounds like you’re pretty busy.
Thanks for shouting out on the interwebs about us, either way!
I don’t think a WoW lore book or a Pokemon Strategy guide EXACTLY count, since I think the idea is shine a light on RPG playing specifically. But those are definitely the next best thing, so do it!
Thanks for commenting, Brad! Our DnD group is on hiatus and we want to try some new RPGs when we get back together. I’m hoping we’ll give Diaspora a try! I’ll write about our experience if we do.
Hey Mary, great idea to get this campaign out there through your site. After the last one and based on your own intention to do so, I bought the Diaspora rule book, read it, and I’ll definitely use it for the next sci-fi game I run. (That’s a least one sale from her posting, Brad!)
For this week, I’ll see if I can get ‘caught’ reading the Supernatural RPG core book (based on the TV series), as that’s the next game my group wants me to run.
