Wait – the girl who plays a rogue (who lurks in the shadows) AND a priest (who can harness the power of the shadows) is scared of shadow people?

  2. Wozzle

I’d still make fun of him for larping.

    Muahaha

Tis easy to tease UK Larpers cause they use latex weopons (or latex covered carbon fibreglass if you’re being picky) :P I prefer re-enacting if you’re pissed off at someone and they aren’t getting the hint, ‘Oops sorry I’m not used to the length of 2-handers, does it hurt much?’ After an aimed attack at somewhere painful. ^^,

    LIGHTNING BOLT! LIGHTNING BOLT!

How much of this was written by commenters?

    • maryvarn

I write the comics long before you guys comment.

  6. Marzim

    wth is larping?

    • Funk

Live Action Role play you know the stuff with plastic swords and shouting “2 Damage!” that kinda stuff.

      • CyberGorth

I’ve always heard of the stuff with the weapons as “boffering”. The groups I tried were very little role-play and lots of fun fake-combat. Kind of a medieval paintball if you will. I usually think of the Vamp. groups with their rock-paper-scissors skill checks as the larpers.

that’s sort of an extreme though … LARPing doesn’t necessarily mean you have to run around with swords, just that you pretend to be someone else – so an intense mafia game could be considered LARPing

      • SirR4T

But if you’re just pretending, isn’t that more cosplaying than LARPing? I apologise beforehand if this is being too nitpicky.

Civil War Reenactments: The original LARP.

      • Tygrezz

I kinda think some bedroom games might be the original LARP.

        “I’ve never done this before…”

Hehe. :) There’s always someone who is more geeky than you are. ;)

LARP = Live Action Role Playing

  9. Gary

    hehe been there :)

  10. Faly

Nice, 2 more RL WoW friends!!! They should start a company raiding team now :)

  11. Eirik

Some of the more popular LARP groups that I’m aware of are Ampguard and the Vampire/werewolf/etc groups that White Wolf Publishing published rules for.

LARP is sorta a second cousin to cosplay (“Costume play”, renown more for anime conventions than otherwise, to me at least) and reenactment ala Society for Creative Anachronism.

  12. Brigwyn

HAHA!! Oh man. I’ve done that SOoooo many times. Stand out make a stand only to find out that was really worse because no one cared. :P

  13. Rencar 29

Yay!!!! LARP joke!!!! That was the only thing to date missing from this comic. My life is now complete.

  14. Kaelqu

Love this comic, very well drawn (as usual) hehe. Shadow people!!
