Good catch, Metasheep. If you check out the sketch you can see the Google Sketchup room I made for reference – stocked with Ikea wares, as so many production studios in NYC are.
Flintte, I was thinking American Apparel.
@Amykruz: Hooray for hoodies!
@Gary: I’ve only worked in a cubicle once. Most animation studios I’ve been in are a bunch of people in a room. It’s actually kinda cool! But a cube would be a nice change.
I have to admit, the space you’ve drawn there is crowded, impersonal, and oppressive. People are jammed in pretty much past the American standard “personal space” limit. Great for company “floorspace rent” figures, bad for employee retention. I could not work for long in those conditions.
Precisely the reason the “anti-distraction hoodie” is useful. … and also why it might seem to coworkers off-putting.
Company I worked for a bit ago avoided the “employee cage” aspect of cubicals by having air walls breaking up spaces, with the backs of the workspaces open to the center of the room. Personal space of a sort, with air holes so the employee doesn’t suffocate.
Those cubicles look remarkably similar to the ones we have for new employees. You need seniority to get ones with more desk space and drawers. We use “nubicles” as one of the terms for a new employee’s desk.
Not sure about the “No One Knows I’m Sleeping Hoodie” or the “Anti-Distraction Hoodie” but I’ve heard it called the “Bad Hair Day Hoodie” and the “Hide my Earbuds hoodie” I’ve also heard it called the “I want to be a Gnome Rogue” hoodie, but that’s probably another comic.
@Johnny: Now I’m picturing Gollum in an over-size red sweatshirt and it’s giving me the giggles.
@Kaelqu: Thanks! Glad to hear it.
@Monkey: I think I started the alt text in October (sorry I’m not in a place I can check that now)…so you can save some time on rereading the entire archive.
I just read your whole comic and finished today. I just wanted to say I have loved it. I am not a MMO player at all, but I love video games. Great work! and keep it up.
And I also love the mouse-over text, I have a hoodie in my office for just that.
Like blinders, they are!
Oh hey, they’re all working on Jerkers.
oooh so thats why they wear that at work…
I use one every day!
Is anyone else wondering where she got that hoodie from?
One of two places…. Either 1) the briefcase/gym bag not drawn in the frame, or…
2) Malletspace!
Malletspace is a cartoonist’s and animator’s best friend.
Good catch, Metasheep.

The best thing about it is the ALT text : Some people call it the “No-One-Notices-I’m-Sleeping-Hoodie”
I wasn’t sure if people were still reading the alt text.
Glad you caught it.
Haha I used to wear a hoodie too when I was in medschool for the same reason!
Wow, I’m glad we actually have cubes with, you know….walls….

a very good observation
Haha, yes, the hoodie is very versatile!
Ooo, do we see a comeback of the famed “Comfy Red Sweatshirt?” I think we do, my precious… *rubs ring out of nowhere*
Don’t worry Mary, I still read the alt text too ^_^ Always funny!
I should invest in a red hoodie, looks comfy!
ALT text?!? I now have to re-read everything, I feel like I’ve missed an entire panel on all of your comics.

Aw thanks! Glad you’re enjoying it.
