NPC Comic

Two sketches for you this week! I’m weirded out at myself for not doing any sketches for “Special.” I was very intimidated to draw this in-game comic, but somehow it just turned out clean enough on the first go. I took some screenshots of Ravenholdt for reference, and a blood elf chick showed up while I was doing that, hence the blood elf in the comic. I also tweaked an effect called Fractal Noise in After Effects to make a textured background to give the comic a warmer feel. After Effects certainly isn’t a necessity for making comics, but I use it so much for my animation work and frequently find myself more comfortable in it than Photoshop.

Oh, I almost forgot – Did anyone notice that I changed fonts? I used the “Boopee” font from the day one of NPC Comic, but the readability of a more traditional comic font had been nagging at me for some time. So I made the switch to “Lint McCree,” and I’m pretty happy with it.
