Oh yes, I’ve had plenty of comments like that, along with ‘girls don’t play WoW’ and ’37 year old women don’t play WoW.’ Strangely enough, I’m not the only 30-something woman I know that plays WoW.
Excellent tip from Lisa! Glad to see Bink and Chloe again. My Sphynx Dragonheart has started watched my screen when I play WoW on my laptop, and he seems fascinated by the movement, but somehow I don’t think he’ll ever manage to play like Bink and Chloe do.
I once tried to figure out the “typical” WoW player… I know in my old guild, the average age was about 40, and entire families were in the guild. In fact, our defacto leader was a “hot girl”. Gender and age don’t seem to be a big issue in determining whether or now you’d be a WoW player. My retired parents play. My son plays. My fiance plays sometimes. Still working on the cat. Best we can get our Siamese to do is to walk all over the keyboard while I’m trying to storm Wintergrasp…
I started playing Everquest 1 when a girl I was dating logged in one morning while I was still asleep, woke up and watched her play, looked super fun! Funny part is we only dated for a couple months but we have been gaming together for like ….8 or 9 years now =P She has a all girl guild so I can attest that yes hot girls do play (um look at our little cartoonist here if you doubt that) and there are quite a few of them.
I think the advent of VENT (see what i did there?) made allot of us realize that no, not every female toon has a gender confused man behind the keyboard.
I often joke that there are no women on WoW – just 50 year old truckers named Bubba, with a beer gut & halitosis.
However, given that I’m of the female gender, along with my sister, my sister in law, her sister, my three nieces…just to name a few, there obviously are women who play the game. However, as with the previously mentioned boyfriend who liked playing hawt belf chicks, it’s pretty much buyer beware if you’re look for an anonymous date online.
True story – a guy I know internet dated a woman from Germany for 6 years – sent her presents, proposed to her over the internet, had multiple occasions of cybersex (yuck!) – but when he showed up unexpectedly at his girlfriend’s house one day…well, his girlfriend wasn’t a girl.
I love occasions like these, its happened many times in groups of mine. What I do, is i send them a link of what I claim to be proof that women play WoW, then while they’re at said link (actually a rickroll) I get them killed for extra anger when they get back.
@anybody I’ve done this to: Sorry…sort of… it was funny though!
I always said the same kinda comments about skinny people. (Skinny people don’t play video games!) (WoW makes people Fat!) Specially when some jerk kid starts teasing me about being fat. >_<
Some guys play female characters. And some girls play male characters ( YES! I know some of them!) And you never know how haut a player behind the char is
On our old NWN RP server, we made a rule that in-game you are always IC. So it was always about character gender, not about player him/herself. Booby Baiters problem was solved forever

Booby baiters. Awesome. ^_^
@Caylynn= Sphynx Dragonheart? What?
Girls play wow! My GLs are all girls!
Sphynx = breed of cat
Dragonheart = one of my cat’s names (his breeder named him)
I can see how I wasn’t very clear in my comment. Guess I should have said “one of my cats”.

I met my ex-fiance through wow
this is so true
I believe this: http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/7351/admiralackbar2jl1.jpg is in order
because I fell for it, and one of my exs was my raid leader

I just read it at work and noticed the warning. Um.. so I guess that means there’s no use in transferring servers to find you. *sigh*
Seriously? Thank you so very much. I think..

Booby Baiters. That’s a nice one.

wow is not getting me fat :< so far nothing worked yet : /
You gotta watch out for them booty-baiters!
Dammit why did you warn the interwebs!?
Now I’m gonna have to come up with a whole new slew of excuses to find wow-boobies.
Oi!
Too funny. My (undeniably hot) wife plays WoW!
Also, I’m loving the mouse-overs!
Where is Cloe’s Druid collar??
That’s what I call a booby trap.
If only more chicks on WoW did what she was about to do…
