Lisa: Well our guild's healer finally hit 80, so we ran her through some dungeons to get geared. Oh and on the way I got exalted with Wyrmrest, so now I have those awesome bracers. I stayed up Saturday night fishing for Mr. Pinchy but gave up around 5am. And Sunday I spent farming for mats and powerleveling my shaman alt!
Jenny: OMG, you're so cool!
Lisa's fantasy of coming clean about she spends her time bursts and she's brought back to reality.
Lisa: Saturday, I uh, ran and 10k and went to a wine bar with friends. Um, Sunday I took a yoga class and, uh...worked in the garden.

So true, sadly. When asked what I’ve been up to I can’t say all the exciting and dramatic stuff my Werewolf roleplaying group got up to so I say I ‘worked on writing some stories’. Kinda sorta almost true…

I get this same situation with my coworkers, I play the “Oh I got together with some friends for a game night” and amuse myself with what they assume that means.
How true this is
There was a time when me and my gf were like that. I had to quit cause it was taking over my life completely. Situations like this one were always happening. And I must say… I miss those times!

The key is to do a little of both, so you have something to talk about with your “uninitiated friends.”
(At work) “What did you do on saturday?” “Went grocery shopping and took a walk.” (actually same trip.)
(With friends) “What did you do on saturday?” “We kicked -ss and took names.”
Muaha! I love it! I’m sometimes hesitant to mention my WoW playing to other women cause I guess girl gamers are still more rare than they should be, but older women? Forget it, they have no idea what the heck it is. I keep trying to get my mom to play though, and I’m not giving up on her yet.

Ha! that is so true… but I try and deny that I am doing anything “wrong” and when I get blank stares I try and explain but then i just tell my friends “You r noobs r got pwnd wit EPIC funness and no chance of rez! RoxorsBoxors FTW lolcakes roflmao!” and that just keeps them from ever asking me again… so I don’t have to be embarrassed about the answer…

Story of my life…btw love your comics. I found this late (Pretty much yesterday) so I went to the start and caught myself up. I’m certain I laughed at each one.
Told some of me classmates that I play WoW, they were totally surprised.
See, I wear gothic clothing and I’m called Marianne ‘The Wise’, so they didn’t think WoW fitted in with me. Now, besides ‘The Wise’ I’m also ‘The Nerd’.
*sigh* I wish someone in my class plays WoW too
